What is Facial Rejuvenation?
Facial rejuvenation is a combination of cosmetic services (both surgical and non-surgical) that can be used to correct or enhance your facial features. Common surgical procedures include a face lift, brow lift, facial implants, rhinoplasty, and eye rejuvenation. Whereas non-surgical facial rejuvenation includes injectables such as Botox, Juvederm, and other branded injectables, as well as neurotoxins and fat injections which allow for reshaping the volume of the face.
What to Expect
After meeting for our initial consultation, if we determine that facial rejuvenation is right for you, we will fully educate you on the procedure or procedures we recommend. Below you will find some basic information on each of the treatment options:
A brow lift is recommended when there is excess skin or sagging skin in the forehead. This excess skin typically causes the brow to drop. There are two ways this can be performed; endoscopic or coronal incision. In an endoscopic brow lift, small incisions will be made and an endoscope would be used to adjust tissue and muscle to reshape the brow. When a coronal incision is used, the incision is made in the hairline and the skin is lifted and excess skin is removed.
For more information on eye rejuvenation, see our eye rejuvenation page.
During a traditional face lift, incisions are made around the hairline and lower scalp. Tissue and muscles are lifted and then excess skin is removed.
Facial Implants (Chin, Jaw, & Cheek)
Small incisions are made and implants are placed underneath the skin and specifically molded to create the perfect contour for your chin, jaw, or cheek. These are commonly done to strengthen the jawline and chin.
Injectables (Botox, Juvederm, etc.)
For more information on injectables, see our injectables page.
For a neck lift, we create incisions around the front of the ear lobe and wrap around behind the ear. Then excess skin and fat is removed.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
When should I consider facial rejuvenation?
A consultation with one of our physicians can help you make the right decision as to whether facial rejuvenation is right for you, but there are some factors to consider: Do you want to reverse some aging on your facial features? Do you have excess skin or fat which creates sagging around your eyes, cheek, or neck?
What recovery time should I expect?
Recovery time varies by procedure and may be increased if you have multiple procedures done either at the same time or over time. The initial recovery times are typically fairly short with a typical surgical procedure recovery time of about two weeks. However, full recovery times can vary by patient.
How long does facial rejuvenation last?
Facial rejuvenation surgical procedures, such as a neck lift or a face lift, can last for a long time. You can lengthen your results by following physician prescribed non-surgical procedures, such as injectables. You should always follow-up with your surgeon when there are any noticeable changes.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary by procedure and can vary a great deal when you comparison shop. We will discuss all financial costs and options with you when we discuss a treatment plan. The best word of advice when choosing a plastic surgeon is choose a surgeon based on experience and results, not on cost.
