What is Botox?

Botulinum Toxin is used to reduce and smooth out wrinkles on your face. Most commonly known Botox, this toxin and is used to relax the facial muscles and tissue that cause the wrinkles.

This can include crows feet around the eyes, "frown lines" between the eyebrows, and forehead wrinkles, sometimes known as furrows. As it turns out, Botox may also act as a preventative treatment that could prevent wrinkles also is also used for non-surgical procedures such as eye rejuvenation and neck rejuvenation.

The Procedure: Cosmetic Injections

The procedure involves injections with very small needles that deliver the Botox to the areas that are being treated. A topical gel or cream can be used as a local anesthetic. The procedure is very quick and usually done in a matter of minutes.

Aftercare

There is no real recovery period necessary for a Botox treatment. You can be on your way when your treatment if finished. For aftercare, it is recommended that you sleep on your back and it is advisable to avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours.
