Many people are unhappy with the shape, size, and point of their nose, which is typically why someone may choose to undergo a rhinoplasty procedure. Rhinoplasty is among many other popular facial surgery options and accounted for a decent number of the 1.7 million cosmetic surgery procedures performed in 2015. A rhinoplasty, in particular, allows you to change the way your nose looks completely. But that means that you have to choose which shape to go with.
Choosing a nose shape can be a challenge -- there are so many different options out there that it may seem overwhelming. It can be understandably worrisome and confusing when you're trying to get the perfect look. However, there is something you can do to choose the best nose for you.
Consultations Are Everything
Many people go into a rhinoplasty with the goal of changing a nose that they think is big and bulky into one that is tiny and elegant. If you're interested in having the procedure done, the first thing you need to do is visit plastic surgeons. Since the procedure is facial plastic surgery, it's best to consult a doctor before making any big decisions on your own.
The doctor can offer you suggestions on what would look best with your face, eye, and ear shape. Not only do you have to consider your face when you're restructuring your nose, but you also have to consider how everything else sits. If your eyes are far apart, having a super tiny nose might look a little odd. If your ears are really close together, having a nose that is rather large might look strange.
While you're at the ENT doctor, be sure to tell them what you want specifically from your nose. They will most likely take some pictures of your face and then perform a task which is called computerized morphing. As scary as it sounds, computerized morphing isn't scary at all.
What computerized morphing does is show you a digitized visualization of what your face would look like with your desired nose. A series of photos are put into the computer and from there, your ENT surgeon can morph your nose into any shape you want to see. This gives you a chance to see what your nose would look like before you have the procedure done.
Choosing a nose shape can be overwhelming. However, going to the doctor, getting a second opinion, and seeing what your nose will end up looking like should cut back on the overwhelming feeling and make you happier.
